Swissport to join CHAMP and Cathay in second ONE Record scheme

Following the announcement yesterday (12 March) that Cathay Cargo and handler WFS are to use CHAMP Cargosystems technology to go live with IATA’s ONE Record data standard in a ‘first use’ case, the systems provider said that it had also joined forces with Swissport and the Hong Kong carrier in a similar scheme.

CHAMP said its 1Neo-Connect will offer its two partners ONE Record capabilities and standardised data exchange, better visibility and real-time booking updates. It will provide real-time booking updates to Swissport, allowing the handler to better plan cargo shipments.

Cathay cargo director, Tom Owen, said: “We look forward to benefitting from ONE Record’s capabilities and continuing to work with both CHAMP and Swissport on this initiative.”

Swissport International manager of global operations, Andrew Wareham, commented: “By proactively championing ONE Record, we are pleased to be part of its early industry adoption.”

CHAMP chief executive Chris McDermott, added that ONE Record was the standard that will drive the full digitalization of air cargo and enable new services.
