Tac Index adds new routes to freight rate data

Airfreight rate data provider Tac Indices has added several new routes to its service.

The newly launched Tac routes include Vietnam-Europe, US-China, US-South America and US-Europe.

Tac managing director John Peyton Burnett said: “Our newly launched routes have become important trade lanes for air cargo in recent years, and we are very happy to have hit thresholds to begin publishing indices from these markets.

“These are also some of our first country to country pairings, more of which we will be publishing in future. We anticipate a number of new routes coming online in the coming weeks as we continue to expand our offerings.”

The data utilised by Tac is primarily on raw transactional freight forwarder data, but the company added that airlines are increasingly supplying data sets as they “increasingly note the value of greater price transparency for all parties in air cargo pricing data”.
