UK-headquartered lessor World Star Aviation has delivered its fourth Boeing 737-400 freighter to Brazilian carrier Total Linhas Aéreas.

Registered as PS-TLG, the 737-400SF was delivered last month, according to data from Planespotters.

The civil aviation database shows that the airline now has a total of five converted 737-400 cargo aircraft. In addition to the WSA aircraft, the airline also took delivery of a second 737-400 from a different lessor in January.

These five aircraft have an average age of 28.5 years. Total Linhas Aéreas also has an ATR 42 in its fleet.

WASA said the lease reinforces its ”commitment with the South American airfreight market”.

The lessor added: "This milestone highlights the cooperation between both companies and further strengthens our long-standing relationship. We are happy to support the growth of Total Linhas Aéreas as they continue expanding its operations in Brazil.”

Total Linhas Aéreas has three major customer contracts in place. These include a contract with state-owned Correios to carry packages and cargo for the Night Postal Network (RPN).

The Central Bank of Brazil also has a charter contract for the transportation of valuables and paper money.

Additionally, the airline also transports Petrobras employees from Manaus, Coari and Carauari to Porto Urucu, where the state-owned company extracts oil and gas.

In May 2022, World Star Aviation completed the purchase of 30 737-400F aircraft with leases attached.

Azul Cargo Express recently confirmed it is preparing to launch regional operations in Brazil using two Airbus A321-200 passenger to freighter (P2F) aircraft leased from AerCap.
