Dutch logistics solutions company Janssen Group of Companies has acquired UK-based freight forwarder Maltacourt Global Logistics.

Active in the air and ocean freight forwarding industry, Maltacourt has seven UK offices which provide services under its brands Maltacourt, Mandarin, and Extraordinair.

Janssen entered the UK market in March with the acquisition of Norman Global Logistics, which is based near London Heathrow with other UK sites in Felixstowe, Northampton, Manchester and St Helens.

“We are proud and excited about the acquisition of Maltacourt and the opportunities it presents for our combined business. The acquisition of Maltacourt aligns with Janssen’s strategic growth plans and underscores our commitment to a strong positioning in the UK,” said Rob Linders, chief executive of Janssen.

“Especially due to post-Brexit complexities, our seamless logistics operation covering both the EU and the UK provides numerous benefits for our clients.”

Matt Beech, chairman of Maltacourt, added: “We are delighted to become part of Janssen, and we strongly believe there is no better fit for our business, culturally or strategically.”

Janssen’s services include warehousing & fulfilment, air and ocean freight forwarding, (pallet) distribution, parcel management solutions, and technical installation services.

The company has 27 offices located across The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Vietnam.

This acquisition of Maltacourt marks the sixth successful acquisition by Janssen in the past year.
