Air cargo rate platform targets accelerator event

Air cargo pricing and booking platform SpotRates has been selected to participate in Switzerland’s 2019 accelerator programme, The Mass Challenge.

SpotRates was one of over 900  startups to apply for the accelerator event and one of 76 companies to make it into the second stage.

The selected startups will have access to corporate partners, mentoring from industry experts and the chance to be rewarded with up to SFr1M in zero-equity prize money, as well as several other in-kind prizes.

Gianluca Modonese, SpotRates founder and chief executive, said: “Participating in Switzerland’s 2019 accelerator program is a big opportunity for us and a clear sign that SpotRates has what it takes to be disruptive in our market.

“The MassChallenge network means invaluable expertise and mentoring as well as access to global partners that will make the difference in launching and scaling our startup.”

Fabio Tantaro, SpotRates founder and chief operating officer, said: “In this phase of our journey as an Italian startup that faces the global market, gaining access to international partners in the MassChallenge network is critical to validating, developing and refining our idea and final proposal in order to win the great challenge we are placed, to innovate and streamline the processes that are by now outdated in the field of logistics, and specifically for air cargo industry, which is our core business.”
