Logistics firm cargo-partner has fully acquired its UK-based partner, Aztek International Freight, following its purchase of a third of the company in 2021.

The move will add two new offices to the cargo-partner network, in East London and Bradford, in addition to the company’s existing office in Manchester, and continues the company’s expansion in western Europe.

Cargo-partner said that it is focusing on express solutions for highly time-critical transports and since opening the UK branch, the company has handled several emergency airfreight shipments for customers from the automotive, aerospace, healthcare, retail and consumer industries.

Stefan Krauter, chief executive of cargo-partner, said: “We have been working with Aztek for 15 years, during which we have mutually helped each other to grow and develop our business. This acquisition will significantly complement our existing service portfolio in the UK, especially in groupage road transport.

“In addition the recently grown team will continue to successfully support clients, keeping their supply chains moving across Europe and navigating the complex new customs requirements following Brexit.”

Traditionally the Austrian-based logistics provider has had a very strong presence in central and eastern Europe, but has recently substantially invested to also further expand the footprint in western Europe having added offices in Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

Last year, the company purchased Australia-based forwarder Associated Customs & Forwarding (ACF).

In January, cargo-partner added extra airfreight charter capacity from Europe to the US
