Nippon Express opens Netherlands logistics hub

Nippon Express' Nijmegen hub
Nippon Express Nederland, the Netherlands-based subsiriary of Nippon Express Co., has openeed a logistics centre in Nijmegen, a city located in the southeastern province of Gelderland.
The new facility, which covers an area of more than 200,000 sq m, will serve as a gateway for air and ocean cargo and will cater to the company’s customers in Europe.
Nippon Express Nederland said the hub will also be used as a storage and distribution parts centre for Takeuchi Manufacturing Co. — a company that develops, manufactures and sells small construction machines.
Also this month, Nippon Express Co. integrated two of its subsidiary companies in Thailand, resuting in a company that “brings various transport modes together”, as well as “strengthening its sales structure” so that it can better meet its customer requirements.
Air cargo ground handler Nippon Express Thailand was merged with and seafreight and trucking business Nippon Express Logistics Thailand.
The company said the integration of the subsidiaries has created a “one-stop [shop for its] warehouse storage and cross-border transport services”.
