TNT to launch data management for pharma

TNT is introducing TrialDat, a web-based data management tool for the clinical research sector.
The international express delivery company said that TrialDat will capture real time end-to-end data on a single platform.
TrialDat will be available to all customers from the first quarter of 2015, as part of a wider initiative to extend TNT’s Clinical Express service to the life science industry.
A TNT spokesperson said: “As we enter into a new phase of clinical research growth due to the release of larger pipelines by the pharma industry, one of the key challenges facing the sector is how to bring new drugs to the market faster, whilst maintaining a tight control on R&D spend.
“This is made even more difficult by the often fragmented clinical trial supply chain, a direct result of the growth of outsourcing strategies by pharmaceutical companies. In order to manage this effectively, the need for a bird’s eye view of global study data is becoming critical.”
TrialDat offers the ability to extract data on a micro and macro level, said TNT, enabling all stakeholders to improve their global supply chain visibility and support better decision making for addressing the risk of study budget overruns.
The tool also allows customers to generate their own reporting down to site level information that will help overall productivity in terms of logistics management and resourcing costs.
Mike Berger, managing director sales at TNT, said: “TrialDat is providing our customers with much needed visibility of each step in their supply chain. We believe this platform will help them drive efficiencies in the management of their global clinical trials and ultimately address better control on total cost of study completion.
“With an expected reboot of the R&D pipeline, TrialDat has come at an opportune time.”
