February freight surge at DXB

Freight volumes at Dubai International (DXB) increased 3% in February, rising from 191,002 tonnes in 2015 to 196,730 tonnes in February 2016. Cargo growth was however outpaced by the rise in passengers, which jumped 6.9% to over 6.3 million passengers in February 2016, according to the latest traffic report by Dubai Airports.
Dubai International is the world’s second busiest airport for international freight. Dubai Airports also operates Dubai World Central, which started operations in 2013.
