Freight down at Frankfurt

Frankfurt Airport cargo volumes fell 1.6% year on year in March and 1.2% in the year to date. Passenger business meanwhile rose 3.9% in the month and 3.3% for the year to date.
Cargo traffic appears to be continuing the trend seen in 2015, when cargo traffic for the year fell 2.6% to 2.1 million tonnes.
Airport operator Fraport blamed weak global trade and economic difficulties in some industrialised and emerging markets for the decline.
