LATAM Cargo has launched a new freighter service to Brussels targeting the transportation of flowers from South America.

The new service launched on March 26 utilising one of the carrier’s B767 freighter aircraft.

The service will offer four-weekly connections between Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito, Ecuador and the Belgian airport. It will also connect with the airline’s Miami hub.

Flowers will be the main commodity transported on the service, the airport said.

The carrier has been ramping up its operations to Europe over recent months and the additional service increases the number of weekly connections from nine to 11.

Earlier this month, the carrier took delivery of its 17th freighter aircraft which it said would be used to expand capacity to Europe.
