November chill for UK airport cargo volumes

A number of UK airports saw a fall in cargo volumes in November compared with the same month in 2017.
Heathrow handled 138,291 tonnes of cargo in November, a 6% decline on 2017’s like month, although volumes for Brazil, China and Turkey “performed strongly”.
There were mixed results for the three UK airports owned by the MAG group, with Manchester’s cargo volumes down 0.5% to 10,300 tonnes in November, throughputs at London Stansted down 11.6% at 22,800 tonnes and a 1% rise at East Midlands Airport, to just over 34,000 tonnes.
