O’Hare enjoys strong cargo month in October

Chicago O’Hare International Airport, one of the world’s busiest airports, handled 162,449 tonnes of cargo in October, up by 8.9% on the same month of 2015.
Freight represented 139,986 tonnes of that figure, express volumes 15,177 tonnes and mail 7,286 tonnes.
International cargo accounted for 117,688 tonnes, domestic cargo by 44,761 tonnes.
The picture is less impressive for the January-October period. During those 10 months of this year, O’Hare processed 1,404,964 tonnes of cargo, down by 3.8% on the same period of 2015.
Within that figure, freight was down year on year by 4.7% to 1.2m tonnes.
