PACTL marches on

Shanghai Pudong International Airport Cargo Terminal (PACTL) says it has had its strongest-ever March and first-quarter figures. With 142,297 tonnes of air cargo, traffic increased 6.8% year-on-year for the month and the quarterly figure grew 1.5% to 367,791 tonnes.
Imports increased by 1.4% year-on-year to 157,270 tonnes during the first three months, with international traffic up 1.9% to 146,241 tonnes, while domestic imports decreased 4.5% to 11,029 tonnes. Export cargo grew 1.5% to 210,521 tonnes – 1.8% for international, to 198,337 tonnes, but a 2.6% decline for domestic exports, to 12,184 tonnes.
PACTL vice-president Lutz Grzegorz, said that growth was at a similar level to last year when the handler achieved a record result of nearly 1.6 million tonnes of air cargo, adding: “Following several investments in our infrastructure and the continuous enhancement of handling processes, we were even able to further increase our market share.”
PACTL processed 49.2% of air cargo handled at Shanghai Pudong International Airport as a whole during first quarter of 2016, up 0.4% compared with the first quarter in 2015.
