Airports in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions saw increased airfreight volumes in October 2017 versus the same month in prior year.
Asia-Pacific volumes grew 2.6% while Middle East hubs saw a +1.3% rise in October, according to the latest statistics from Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific.
An ACI spokesperson said: “Current month’s growth continued to be driven by strong demand in Asia-Pacific, led by Hong Kong (HKG) +2.3%, Shanghai (PVG) +7.3% and Seoul Incheon (ICN) minus 1.8%.
“The small decline at Seoul Incheon was due to the timing of a number of public holidays residing in the same week resulting in fewer working days in the month compared to last year."
