Aramex recruits Kipp to COO role

Aramex has announced the appointment of Thomas Kipp as the company’s new chief operating officer.

Kipp brings over 25 years of experience across logistics, e-commerce and management consulting in Europe, Asia and North America.

He will be responsible for overseeing Aramex’s global operations, business development, improving operational efficiencies, and championing crucial process improvements.

Kipp joins Aramex after spending nearly 15 years with Deutsche Post DHL Group (DPDHL), where most recently, he served as the executive vice president for corporate incubations and led the development of new business models outside the company’s core business.

Prior to this role, he was the executive vice president, strategy and business development for post, e-commerce and parcel (PeP), where he managed strategic projects, developed and implemented technology-based process improvements and managed the brand.

Aramex chief executive Bashar Obeid said: “I am pleased to welcome Kipp to our leadership team. I strongly believe that his wealth of experience and proven track record of entrepreneurial leadership, commercial acumen and unparalleled client management will be instrumental in successfully executing our strategic vision. Kipp complements our strong people and performance-driven culture and will build on our continued success, driving Aramex’s position as a leading industry player in its core markets.”

The company said that it has experienced a surge in e-commerce activities resulting from increased online shopping during Covid-19 related lockdowns.

In response to the robust demand, it ramped up “on the ground operations through increased recruitment, as well as investments in expanding its fleet, warehousing facilities, and related infrastructure”.
