Dachser creates new business unit to develop specialist solutions

Dachser has created a new central business unite that will look to develop logistics service targetting specific industries.
The new Corporate Solutions, Research & Development business unit will be led by Stefan Hohm, who has led the Dachser Logistics Center in Hof, Germany, for the past seven years. Hohm will report directly to CEO Bernhard Simon.
"Hohm and his team will implement worldwide supply chains for customers from focus industries," Dachser said. "The new Corporate Unit will also bundle research and development activities and will be working closely with the Corporate Unit called Corporate Development & Strategy, as well as with Corporate IT.
Responsibilities of the new unit also include new and continuing development of value-added services, which complement transport and warehousing in the standardized Dachser groupage network.
This includes dedicated services for customers, industry-specific value-added services, and premium services associated with deliveries to end customers.
“We strive to understand the complex logistics requirements of different industries down to the last detail, develop custom-tailored solutions, and implement them worldwide by way of our effective and efficient standardized networks,” said Hohm.
