Dachser ramps up capacity on Frankfurt-Chicago route

Dachser USA has added an extra weekly flight on its Frankfurt-Chicago route in response to market demand.

The logistics provider initially launched the weekly Frankfurt-Chicago-Frankfurt air cargo service in July last year, as demand for pandemic-related supplies, such as PPE, increased.

The additional weekly flight between Frankfurt and Chicago will be operated every Wednesday by American Airlines utilising bellyhold capacity of a B777 passenger aircraft.

Andy Frommenwiler, vice president, airfreight at Dachser USA, commented: “Many of our customers are shifting some of their shipments to airfreight transport because of the uncertainty surrounding ocean transport right now.

“As volumes increase, our recently launched dedicated Frankfurt-Chicago airfreight service continues to attract clients and is now operating at full capacity. In order to serve the growing demand for reliable and predictable service levels, we launched our new weekday service, which is already drawing new customers.”

Dachser USA’s airfreight service connects its US customers to market destinations in Europe from Frankfurt.

For its European customers, Dachser USA’s road network enables “prompt door-to-door deliveries within the 48 contiguous states”.

Meanwhile, Dachser road network in Europe connects 37 countries, including: Austria, Benelux, Czech Republic,Germany, France, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland.
