Dachser US expands airfreight capacity with Chicago-Frankfurt route

Dachser’s US division has launched a weekly airfreight service between the North America and Europe, in response to growing demand.

The service, which commenced on July 26, operates on rotation between Chicago, US, and Frankfurt, Germany.

Dachser’s road transport network provides links to other destinations in Germany, as well as Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia and Switzerland.

Meanwhile, the company’s trucking service in the US enables “prompt door-to-door deliveries” in the 48 states.

Andy Frommenwiler, vice President, airfreight at Dachser US, commented: “This new dedicated weekly transatlantic flight service offers a solution to the current air freight capacity challenges that our customers are facing.

“They called upon us to provide a timely, efficient transportation option to move their cargo between the US and Europe in a way that allows them to properly plan and meet their deadlines.”

Dachser said that in light of the capacity crunch, it has continued to expand its airfreight capacity with charter services, as well as direct routes to and from Europe, Asia and Latin America.

It added that cargo such as large-format goods, hazardous good and temperature-controlled products can be shipped across its network as a result of its “supply chain fluidity”.

Frommenwiler added: “Today, the marketplace demands reliability and agility. Dachser aims to proactively foresee the needs of our customers and stay one step ahead by offering timely, innovative, and adaptable solutions.

“We plan to offer and expand our premium air service routes as our customer requirements continue to grow”.
