Logistics provider DG International is planning to expand its presence in air cargo and has appointed Laura Odell as head of airfreight to lead the drive.

UK-based DG Internationl said that Odell will focus initially on expanding the team with specialist skill sets in order to “develop and enhance DG International’s suite of services to its customers”.

She will also support the company “in securing a strong global network of partners and seamless processes backed by the company’s digital supply chain platform, Horizon”.

Odell has worked in the industry for over 24 years and joins from ZenCargo, where she was primarily responsible for expanding its air network strategy.

“Joining the DG International team is an exciting challenge for me as the business continues on its growth journey,” said Odell. “It’s refreshing to be a part of a team that embraces change, innovation and is committed to providing the best service possible to its customers.

“The existing airfreight offering provides me with a strong base to support my focus on refining and enhancing our solution, whilst ensuring it complements our other shipping solutions across road, rail and ocean.”

Ryan Lucas, chief executive at DG International, added: “With the introduction of Laura to the team, we are confident that our ambition to develop and grow our airfreight solutions will solidify our full-service freight offering. She has already implemented a number of strategic additions and I’m looking forward to working with her as we continue to grow DG International.”
