DHL Global Forwarding (GF) has strengthened its presence at Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport with the signing of a contract for this new 16,000-sq m airfreight warehouse and office building.
GF has experienced “significant growth” in its cargo activities in the region and needs to relocate to bigger premises, admits Jean-Claude Levi, president of DHL Global Forwarding, France.
“In order to manage the significant growth of our airfreight volumes, we have indeed decided to relocate at Paris CDG airport. This will enable us to optimise our operational performance,” he points out.
“We will also take this opportunity to make specific investments dedicated to different industry sectors such as luxury goods and life sciences,” he adds.
The new facility enables DHL Global Forwarding to relocate all of its airfreight at CDG into one location, with direct access to the apron.
Edouard Mathieu, head of real estate development at CDG, notes: “After DB Schenker, Kuehne + Nagel and Bolloré Logistics (SDV), DHL Global Forwarding is now becoming established at CDG, demonstrating once again the attractiveness and operational efficiency of our airport.
“This new step also strengthens the competitiveness of the airport and shows a strong desire on the part of Aéroports de Paris to support rapid changes and to meet customers’ needs.”
