Geodis to buy logistics operator OHL

French global forwarder Geodis has entered into an agreement to acquire US-based third party logistics operator Ozburn-Hessey Logistics (OHL) for an undisclosed amount.
The number four European supply chain operator said that OHL will be rebranded “in time” under the Geodis banner.
Geodis, 100% owned by French railways subsidiary SNCF Logistics, has revenues of €6.8bn which are generated through its supply chain optimisation, freight forwarding, contract logistics, distribution & express and road transport arms.
Founded in 1951, OHL operates more than 120 value-added distribution centres in North America with over 3.3m sq m of flexible warehouse space.
It provides integrated global supply chain management solutions including transportation, warehousing, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, and import and export consulting services.
“We are proud to welcome the customers and employees of OHL to Geodis and to provide our global customers with OHL’s expertise and presence in the North American market,” said Marie-Christine Lombard, chief executive of Geodis.
She added: “Likewise Geodis offers a second to none global footprint for North American corporations and the clients of OHL seeking to grow internationally.”
Randy Curran, chief executive of OHL, said: “We are excited to join forces with Geodis and look forward to the extended reach of a worldwide group. Both organisations have a long tradition of finding world class supply chain solutions for customers in pursuit of the superior customer experience.”
