Germany’s Rhenus acquires Cesped in Italy

Rhenus Logistics is to acquire Italian Logistics company, Cesped, in a deal which will be formalised after approval from the competent antitrust authorities.
Germany-based Rhenus said that the Cesped acquisition strengthens its "already market-leading position in the Italian road transport market", adding that the takeover supports Rhenus’ "continued development" of its European road freight network.
Guido Restelli, managing director of Rhenus Logistics Italy, commented: “The meeting of two family businesses in this way offers great potential for further developments and for new opportunities for customers.”
Cesped managing director Giorgio Flego said: “As a family business, we are happy to be included in the Rhenus family.”
The Italian company will retain its "easily recognisable" branding in the areas in which it operates, confirmed Rhenus.
