Imperial makes charitable donations

Logistics firm Imperial will continue its long tradition of Christmas donations, with three more charities receiving financial gifts this year.

St. Raphael Knights of Malta Hospice Centre, based near Imperial’s International headquarters in Duisburg, Germany, will receive €2,500 to support its ongoing social work. The Centre focuses on supporting families caring for loved ones afflicted with chronic illness.

Imperial’s Dutch business has meanwhile chosen to donate €2,500 to the “Villa Pardoes” project, which enables families who look after a seriously ill child to spend a relaxing week‘s holiday at the holiday complex, located near Eindhoven. The families stay in one of twelve holiday homes free of charge, and can enjoy a care-free break at the nearby Efteling Theme Park.

Finally, Imperial’s Polish business is giving €2,500 to the children’s home in Bnin near Poznań. This establishment provides a secure and caring home for 28 socially-disadvantaged children of all ages, who come from difficult family backgrounds.

Imperial’s International chief executive, Hakan Bicil, said: “Even though many of us have been subject to greater emotional, financial and business pressures this year because of the coronavirus pandemic, we must always remember that there are people in society who are much worse off than us.

“As part of Imperial’s global ESG programme, we are pleased and proud to continue supporting organisations which help the less fortunate in those communities where we operate our businesses in our International business.”

In addition to Imperial’s three latest Christmas donations, it will continue to provide financial support to the SOS Children’s Village in Hungary in 2021, for which it is covering all the costs of accommodation, energy, healthcare and education of the children and young people.
