K+N launches SwiftLOG warehouse management system

Kuehne + Nagel (K+N) has launched a new global warehouse management system (WMS).
Called KN SwiftLOG, it is said to be a scalable platform with global reach, powered by JDA Warehouse Management.
The first implementation of KN SwiftLOG took place in China with the creation of an omni-channel distribution centre for a major fashion brand.
Gianfranco Sgro, the member of the Managing Board of Kuehne + Nagel International responsible for K+N’s Contract Logistics business segment, explained: “Consumer and business requirements are rapidly changing. Anticipating these trends, we constantly adapt the physical and logical organisation of our fulfilment centres and enhance our management warehouse systems.
“New key variables are process digitalisation, change in order profile, opportunistic inventory allocation and speed. Our customers will benefit from a state-of-the-art platform in the market, which is currently the most important single investment in contract logistics at Kuehne + Nagel.”
KN SwiftLOG is powered by the JDA Warehouse Management system, extended by K+N customisation, creating what K+N describe as a “unique digital solution… a best-in-class platform for omni-channel fulfilment”.
KN SwiftLOG is to become the global standard for K+N warehouse management, and will be used to upgrade more than 400 of its fulfilment centres across the world.
Advanced picking technologies and communication platforms used to exchange data with major e-commerce players are said by the company to be “already embedded”.
