Kestrel Liner Agencies opens dedicated airfreight office

Shipping line agency Kestrel Liner Agencies has opened a dedicated airfreight office following on from recent growth in the air cargo side of the business.
The forwarder opened an office at Heathrow earlier this month with John Fiddies, who previously worked for forwarder Link Shipping UK, running the operation.
Kestrel chief executive Andy Thorne said: “This is a real transitional time for Kestrel. We are already known as one of the leading liner agencies and this new venture will only strengthen our position.
“Air freight is traditionally used for speed over other modes of transport and plays a vital role in our fast-paced society.
“You may have seen in the news recently how Britain’s biscuit shortage was thwarted thanks to the quick response that air freight can offer.
“We have always been able to offer our clients the best service, this means finding the most effective and efficient way possible to move their goods.”
Kestrel is not the only liner shipping agency to have made the move into airfreight recently. Earlier this year, UK-based John Good Shipping announced it had opened an airfreight division.
