Perspex sees clear advantages from Tigers deal

Logistics and transport company Tigers is to partner with acrylic products maker Perspex SA Gauteng in South Africa for all its warehousing and distribution needs.
Perspex South Africa manufactures extruded acrylics, styrenics, polycarbonate, aluminium composite sheeting, polypropylene, polyethylene and extruded polyurethane products.
Through the partnership, it aims to will improve its service offering and enhance its reputation as a supplier.
Under the deal, it gains access to Tigers’ systems and global infrastructure. At the same time, it will enable the logistics company to extend its reach in South Africa.
As well as forwarding, clearing, distribution and warehousing, Tigers will offer Perspex a larger warehouse and extra vehicles, allowing it to speed up picking and packing and delivery.
Perspex clients will also be able to check stock, order and receive delivery time confirmation instantaneously.
Managing director, Tigers South Africa, Paul Lawrence, said: “Our state-of-the-art SmartHub Connect portal provides full integration with Perspex South Africa’s order management systems, complete with a client facing layer, that offers data visibility and order management.”
Perspex SA’s Gauteng branch will also move into new office space, as well as a 4,600-square metre Tigers warehouse in Isando, Johannesburg.
