SDV sets up in Myanmar

FRENCH logistics company SDV is growing its network in south-east Asia by setting up a new office in Yangon, Myanmar, formerly Burma.
The development is happening with the support of KG Polestar, its long-standing partner since 1998.
As of this month, experienced staff from both entities have joined forces to create SDV Myanmar.
“As the country moves towards democratic and economic reforms, many of our customers are exploring this region and some of them already took the plunge on investing massively in Myanmar,” observes Julien Loiret, the company’s general manager of sales and development in Myanmar.
With a population of 62 million, the country offers many opportunities, not only in raw materials such as oil and gas, “but also from healthcare to telecommunication,” adds Elizabeth Shwe, who is joining SDV Myanmar as a director.
The company is anticipating a strong growth in demand for transport and logistics services and is offering a wide range of services and solutions especially in the oil and gas, telecoms, healthcare, fashion and retail industries.
