SLi moves into Heathrow

Colchester, UK-based logistics firm SLi is to open a new operation at Heathrow to tap into the air cargo and express distribution market. The company, which is a member of the nationwide Palletways network of road hauliers, has a policy of investing in sites close to the country’s main air and seaports.
SLi says it has invested £3m in the new venture, including ten new vehicles and trailers.  It also has systems to clear customs at any airport or port directly from its head office, book cargo onto flights and declare cargo safe for boarding passenger aircraft.
