Amazon Air has taken delivery of its 10th Airbus A330-300 passenger to freighter (P2F) aircraft for operation by Hawaiian Airlines.

This aircraft is the last of 10 A330-300P2Fs from lessor Altavair, to be operated by Hawaiian, as part of a deal first announced in October 2022.

"We've officially launched Amazon's 10th A330-300 into the skies," said Raoul Sreenivasan, vice president of Amazon Global Air, in a LinkedIn post on 22 June.

The last A330-300P2F to be delivered to Amazon is named "Resilience", said Sreenivasan.

All aircraft were converted by Germany-headquartered Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), a joint venture between Singapore-based ST Engineering and France-headquartered Airbus.

The deal with Hawaiian will last for eight years with options to extend for a further two and three years. Alaska Air Group-owned Hawaiian received the first of the 10 aircraft in July 2023.

Hawaiian then commenced service of its A330-300P2F contract business for Amazon in October that year.

In October last year, Amazon Air confirmed it had begun selling cargo capacity on its aircraft to third parties, including ad hoc and charter services.

Research published in April by the Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development found that Amazon Air has continued to expand its widebody air cargo capacity in a move that will help it accommodate more third-party shipments.
