Canadian freighter airline Cargojet has added a Boeing 767-300ER freighter to its growing domestic and international operations

Cargojet currently has 23 Boeing 767s and 17 Boeing 757s active in its fleet, according to fleet tracking website Planespotters.

The new aircraft, with registration code C-GPAJ, was delivered in May. The 26-year-old aircraft was converted in March.

Mississauga, Ontario-headquartered Cargojet is also due to take delivery of another two 767Fs and one more 757F.

The airline said in a LinkedIn post: ”Freshly livery and ready for the skies - Cargojet proudly welcomes its newest B767-300ER freighter, C-GPAJ, to our growing fleet.”

The carrier has been focusing on growing its 767 fleet after ditching plans to expand into 777 freighters.

Cargojet originally had plans to convert eight 777s (four -200s and four -300s) into freighters, but later reduced this to four conversions and eventually in January 2024 ditched its 777 plans altogether as a result of changing market conditions.

The market has been serving Cargojet well recently. The airline reported an 8.1% year-on-year increase in first quarter revenues to a record C$249.9m, earnings before interest and tax (ebit) improved by 32.7% to C$49.9m and net profits were up 47.7% to C$48m.

In comparison to the cautious stance adopted by other airlines, Cargojet said that tariffs may offer an opportunity as ”importers in our domestic market will need to bring the product directly into Canada rather than routing through previous optimal points within North America”.

The company's revenues also passed the C$1bn mark for the first time in 2024.
