AEI’s B737-800SF freighter conversion receives STC approval from the EASA

AEI B737-800SF

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has approved Aeronautical Engineers, Inc’s (AEI) supplemental type certificate (ST02690LA) for its 12-pallet position B737-800SF freighter conversion.

AEI said this is “an important milestone” because the B737-800SF is an ideal freighter for European market route structures.

“Multiple European customers have already expressed interest in AEI’s B737-800SF conversion,” the company said in a statement. “AEI currently has Federal Aviation Administration, Civil Aviation Administration of China, and now EASA approvals for its B737-800SF.”

The AEI converted B737-800SF freighter offers a main deck payload of up to 24 tonnes. It incorporates eleven 88″ x 125″ container positions, as well as an additional position for an AEP/AEH container.

The converted freighter also features new floor beams aft of the wing box, a large 86” x 137” main cargo door with a single vent door system and a flexible Ancra cargo loading system. Additionally, the AEI B737-800SF includes a rigid 9g barrier, up to five supernumerary seats, a galley and a lavatory.
