Air Cargo News is delighted to have been selected as the principal media partner of IATA’s World Cargo Symposium (WCS) for the first time.
The 15th edition of the key annual event in the air cargo industry takes place at the Excel Arena in London between September 27 and 29.
This year’s event comes as the industry enters a pivotal period: passenger and bellyhold operations continue to ramp up, while freighters are seen as an increasingly important cog in the supply chain machine to combat uncertainty and unpredictability across the globe.
Meanwhile, the demand outlook remains uncertain with the war in Ukraine, cost of living crisis and ongoing Covid outbreaks and restrictions threatening to bring a stellar period for the industry to an end.
This year’s WCS will tackle these topics as well as other industry priorities; the ongoing need to digitalise, the continued enhancement of safety and security and the increasingly important topic of sustainability.
IATA says that this year’s WCS will continue to move the industry from talk to action.
“Celebrating our 15th anniversary, the IATA WCS is the go-to event for thought-provoking sessions, engaging speakers and informative programme topics that focus on the issues and trends facing our industry today,” the airline association said.
“The Symposium will feature plenary sessions, specialised streams, workshops and executive summits, tackling aspects related to technology and innovation, security & customs, cargo operations and sustainability, where you can partake in lively discussions and benefit from the opportunity to network with over 1,300 key industry players at the WCS Welcome Reception and Gala dinner.”
Over the coming three days the Air Cargo News team will be providing live coverage of the key discussions at the event covering the themes of digitalisation, sustainability and safety & security.
Our live coverage can be accessed through the event app or on our dedicated WCS landing page on aircargonews.net.
Meanwhile, we have also produced a special digital edition of Air Cargo News.
Welcome to this year’s WCS and we hope you all have a successful three days.
