Atlas increases earnings expectations for 2018

Atlas Air Worldwide Holding’s strong start to the year has led the company to increase its earnings outlook for 2018.
In an investor statement, the aircraft lessor said it now expects second-quarter adjusted income from continuing operations, net of taxes, to increase by 40% to 45% compared with is first quarter net income of $23.8m.
Previously, the company had predicted growth of 35% to 40%.
It also increased its full-year outlook: "We expect our adjusted income from continuing operations, net of taxes, to rise 35% to 40% compared with 2017 adjusted net income of $133.7m, an increase from our prior outlook of low- to mid-30% growth."
The company has had a busy start to the year with several deals announced. Both Panalpina and DHL Global Forwarding have expanded their airfreight operations with Atlas Air, it has continued to role out aircraft for Amazon, Polar Air – which Atlas owns 51% of – has added new Japan freighter flights and it was one of several airlines to win US military contracts.
