MAB Kargo flies 1,500 sheep ahead of Eid Aidil Adha festival

MAB Kargo today completed a charter flight carrying 1,500 sheep across the Java Sea from Surabaya to Kuala Lumpur.
Flight MH6435 departed Surabaya’s Juanda International Airport at 17:05 with 50 tonnes of livestock and landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 20:45.
This is the first ever charter that MABkargo has operated out of Surabaya, with two more shipments scheduled for August 8 and 13.
The transport of the livestock is to cater for the Eid Aidil Adha demand, which is expected to fall on  August 22 2018.
Upon touchdown, the 20 crates were efficiently managed into awaiting trucks to the next destination by the ground crew as well as MABkargo’s Animal Hotel staff.
MABkargo’s Animal Hotel manages all sorts of live animal shipment.
Amiroel Shazrie Yussof, MASkargo’s sales and marketing general manager said: “The staff at Animal Hotel undergo regular trainings to keep themselves updated with the latest know-how on both safety and animal welfare pertaining to shipments of live animals by air.
"In the past, we have transported exotic animals such as dolphins, sea lions, tiger sharks, baby giraffes and rhinoceros to name a few. Equines, cattle and livestock are also frequent commodities on our charter service. I am pleased to share that our vast experience in pet and animal transportation has accorded MABkargo with a membership in the IATA Live Animal Board.”
Apart from livestock movement, MABkargo also offers charter service for oil & gas, concert equipment and Grand Prix equipment.
