SF Airlines continues expansion with new Mongolia route

SF Airlines has added a new service between China and Mongolia that aims to capitalise on the ‘belt and road’ initiative and e-commerce traffic.
The SF Express-owned airline said it had launched the service on January 11 utilising one of its B757-200 freighters.
The flight will operate on a rotation of: Shenyang-Changchun-Ulan Bator-Shenyang.
"In the context of the "Belt and Road Initiative", the operation of the newly launched route will offer favorable air logistics conditions for cross-border e-commerce cooperation between China and Mongolia," SF Airlines said.
"The existing air logistics advantages of Shenyang and Changchun, and freight sources of Ulan Bator of Mongolia are expected to be further developed and integrated. The development and cooperation of SF international business will bring in new development opportunities."
The airline which launched its maiden flight has been busy over the last couple of months.
At the start of the year, the airline announced it had taken delivery of its 41st aircraft. Its fleet now includes five B767s, 19 B757s and 17 B737s.
The airline also recently purchased two B747-400 freighters through an online auction. The aircraft were previously owned by insolvent German-Chinese carrier Jade Cargo and were bought for Yuan160.8m and Yuan162.
