Suparna looks to add new long-haul freighter services

Suparna Airlines, formerly Yangtze River Airlines and known in China as Jinpeng, has applied to open three new long-haul freighter services.
The Xi’an Xianyang International Airport-hubbed airline has applied to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to add two China-Europe services and one transpacific operation on the trade lane utilising B747F capacity by the end of the year.
One service would call Shanghai Pudong – Xi’an – Hahn – Erdos twice per week; a second would cover Shanghai Pudong – Zhengzhou – Brussels – Tianjin seven times per week; and the third Shanghai Pudong – Zhengzhou – Los Angeles – Tianjin seven times a week.
Feedback on the proposals is due by October 23.
The application follows the addition of a Shanghai – Xian – Frankfurt Hahn service in August.
The airline began leasing a B747F from Atlas Air Worldwide earlier this year.
The airline is a subsidiary of HNA Modern Logistics, which in turn is owned by the HNA Group. The group’s airport arm recently invested in a majority stake in Hahn airport.
