Delta’s Joyce adds airport role to cargo responsibility

Delta Air Lines head of cargo Gareth Joyce has taken on extra responsibility for airport customer service.
Joyce, who was appointed as president of cargo in mid-2016, has also taken on the role of senior vice president – airport customer service.
The extra responsibility of in-airport customer service means Joyce now leads the airline’s largest business unit that encompasses approximately 30,000 employees across eight airport hubs and more than 200 airport stations globally.
Asked if there were plans to bring in new executives to support Joyce in cargo, the airline said: “Gareth has a strong team in Kristin Colville, Rob LeBel and Julian Soell, so no plans for an additional senior leader.”
Prior to joining Delta, Joyce held a variety of leadership positions with Mercedes-Benz throughout South Africa, Europe and North America.
Prior to his time at Mercedes-Benz, he held positions with IQ Business Group, Standard Bank South Africa, Blick PLC, Austen Security and Deloitte & Touche.
