Dachser expands airfreight business in China

Logistics firm Dachser has expanded its airfreight station at Shanghai Pudong Airport Bonded Zone.
The Germany-headquartered firm said work on its facility in Shanghai to expand it to 6,000 sq m from 3,000 sq m had now been completed.
The expansion allows the company to operate with a two airport gateway strategy. This will speed up airfreight processing, the company said.
Inbound and outbound cargo for the ten Dachser branches in its north China region will be routed through  Shanghai Pudong Airport and the Beijing International Airport, depending on their geographical proximity, specific requirements of the goods and current market situation.
“The north China gateway demonstrates Dachser’s high quality process management across continents,” said Yves Larquemin, managing director air and sea logistics north China."
“Consolidating cargo via the gateway instead of handling it individually at local airports will harmonize processes and extend service capabilities,” said David Wang, airfreight gateway manager north China.
