Dachser USA targets US automotive with new Detroit office

Logistics firm Dachser USA has expanded its Midwestern footprint, opening a new location in Detroit as it targets the automotive industry.
Detroit is best known as the centre of the US automotive industry, with the "Big Three" auto manufacturers headquartered there. The new location is Dachser’s fifth office in the region.
The forwarder said the new office "allows with the ability to work with another sizeable U.S. airport that services a large number of international flights".
It added: "This expansion will further meet the demand of Dachser’s customers as the company becomes even more integrated into the automotive industry."
“After recently expanding the Cincinnati and Minneapolis offices, Detroit was the next logical step for our Midwest expansion,” said Frank Guenzerodt, president and chief executive of Dachser USA Air & Sea Logistics Inc.
“As a service provider, being close to our customers is vital. Therefore, we will continue to focus our efforts on expanding our physical footprint in the US, as well as finding innovative ways to meet customers’ needs best.”
Besides its focus on the European and Asian trade lanes, Dachser USA said it is also expanding business to and from Latin America.
“We are consistently searching for ways to improve our intelligent combination of logistics network competencies to achieve the best possible connection between our markets. This expansion into Detroit will further our ability to serve the growing demands presented by the automotive industry,”said Guenzerodt.
