SEKO appoints Matthew Brown as new CFO

US-headquartered supply chain services specialist SEKO Logistics has appointed Matthew Brown as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
He has replaced Dan Sarna, who retired as CFO at the beginning of August.
Brown brings to the role over 25 years of experience in international business and financial management. He is based at SEKO’s headquarters in Chicago, reporting to president and chief executive James Gagne.
Prior to joining SEKO, Brown’s last role was president and CFO of technology company SUZOHAPP.
He will, a SEKO statement said, “play a key role in the expansion of SEKO’s global network including acquisitions, partnerships and new services as it builds on strong growth generated by its multi award-winning transportation, logistics and fulfilment solutions”.
Gagne added of Brown: “Having lived and worked in Australia, Brazil and Mexico, he clearly understands the international market and what it takes to turn global challenges into new business opportunities.
“As we continue to grow all over the world and look at new investment and acquisition opportunities, he will provide the sound financial leadership and the experience we need to realize our goals as SEKO enters the next phase of our expansion beyond just organic growth,” Gagne observed.
SEKO is continuing to grow in many markets. Last month (July), the company confirmed that it was investing in a new flagship airfreight and omni-parcel services facility close to London Heathrow Airport, as the logistics group’s UK revenues are set to top £100m for the first time.
SEKO opened its first UK location in 2003 and now operates eight facilities there, including a 225,000 sq ft logistics centre in Milton Keynes.
