Frank Van Gelder appointed Pharma.Aero secretary general

Collaborative pharmaceuticals platform Pharma.Aero has appointed Frank Van Gelder to the post of secretary general.
He said: “The dynamism and support we see from many different stakeholders, strengthen the [belief] we can really make a difference in the supply chain of life science products in airfreight. We can only do this if we all speak the same language, in which Pharma.Aero already fulfils the crucial role of a reliable facilitator to all our partners and members of today and tomorrow.”
Van Gelder’s experience includes senior management positions within the air cargo industry, and specifically in relation to special products such as pharmaceuticals and perishables.
His appointment as secretary general of Pharma.Aero comes after Hong Kong International Airport, freighter operator AirBridgeCargo Airlines and Italian handler Alha Group joined the expanding network in January.
Pharma.Aero is a cross-industry initiative set up by Brussels Airport with Miami International Airport, based on IATA’s CEIV Pharma programme.
