XPO names Fassler as new chief strategy officer

XPO Logistics has appointed Matthew Fassler to the post of chief strategy officer, effective November 26.
Bradley Jacobs Greenwich, chairman and chief executive of Connecticut-headquartered XPO Logistics, said: "We hold Matt in high regard as an expert on market dynamics in the bricks-and-mortar retail and e-commerce sector – the fastest-growing area of our business.
“His understanding of omnichannel retail is particularly valuable to XPO, given our leadership positions in e-fulfilment and last mile logistics. Matt’s insights will help us execute on our strongest opportunities for expansion."
Fassler replaces Scott Malat, who has held the position of chief strategy officer since 2011 and will step down on December 8 to spend more time with his family.
In another management change, XPO has promoted Tavio Headley to senior director of investor relations, with immediate effect.
