EGAT selected to carry out B767-300 conversions

Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp (EGAT) has been approved to perform passenger-to-freighter conversions for the 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) programme.
Under the agreement, EGAT will modify and convert B767-300BCFs at its Taiwan facility.
The first airplane will be inducted in 2017, with redelivery anticipated in 2018. Boeing has received 27 firm orders from customers worldwide for the B767-300BCF.
Boeing’s current market outlook forecasts a need for 400 widebody conversions over the next two decades, with strong demand for 767 freighter conversions due to growth in e-commerce.
Converted 767-300BCFs have about the same cargo capability as the 767-300 production freighter with approximately 50 tonnes structural payload at a range of approximately 3,000 nautical miles (5,930 km.) and 412,000 lbs. (187,270 kg.) maximum takeoff weight. There are 24 pallet positions on the main deck.
EGAT has previously carried out airframe conversions that built up the fleet of Boeing Dreamlifters – converted B747 airplanes used to support the B787 programme – since 2005, as well as a 747-400 Propulsion Test Platform for GE Aviation in 2014.
The expansion of Boeing’s passenger-to-freighter MRO supplier base supports market growth.
