FPS appoints business development head

FPS SRI LANKA – a founder member of the Famous Pacific Shipping Group of independent forwarders and consolidators – has appointed Senaka Premaratne as head of business development.
In his newly-created role, Premaratne will be responsible for strengthening the sales force both locally and internationally , whilst spearheading increased collaboration with overseas agency partners to develop bi-directional traffic, says a company statement. 
The chartered accountant has more than 20 years’ experience in sales and marketing, including head of sales and marketing for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Sri Lanka, where his strategies generated double-digit growth, it adds.
“We warmly welcome Senaka to our management team. He will add value to the services we provide to our portfolio of major blue-chip customers,” comments Gihan Nanayakkara, managing director of FPS Sri Lanka.
