Transport logistic China’s twin focus

This year’s transport logistic China exhibition (which includes the air cargo China event) is looking busy already, with more international exhibitors having already registered than two years ago.
The show, which will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre on May 16-18, will focus on digitisation – a major feature of the host country’s ‘Made in China 2025’. The Internet of Things and artificial intelligence are among the areas that are becoming increasingly important for the entire supply chain.
Another focus will be the ‘One Belt – One Road’ initiative that aims to create a New Silk Road to facilitate trade between China and Europe, with massive investment in infrastructure.
According to Gerhard Gerritzen, member of the management board at event organiser Messe München: “Companies dare not lose sight of the Chinese market. New developments are taking place too quickly. The two topics of digitisation and the New Silk Road provide the logistics industry with a unique opportunity to adopt a strategic position and become involved at an early stage.”
Plus: “It’s now essential to be present locally in order to conclude possible cooperation arrangements,” he pointed out.
