Transviet to represent 1GSA in Vietnam

1GSA – the independent general sales agent (GSA) network – has appointed Transviet Promotion as its exclusive member for Vietnam.
Transviet Promotion, which sells both cargo and passenger capacity, was established in 1996. It has five offices in the Vietnamese cities of Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi and Da Nang, and 55 of its 350 staff are employed in cargo; in regards to freight, it currently represents a total of nine carriers offering capacity on flights throughout Asia, to the US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Its full portfolio of GSA service provision takes in sales and marketing, reservations, revenue accounting, load planning, ULD build-up and breakdown, and handling and ramp supervision.
It also supervises import operations, and assists airlines with landing rights applications.
Transviet Promotion director Le Viet Cuong commented on the new deal: “Membership will enable us to raise our profile internationally, and benefit from being part of a developing network of companies which share our values of professionalism, effectiveness and independence.”
1GSA president David Lee added: “1GSA is very fortunate in securing such a strong and professional member for this important young market.
“Transviet Promotion adds substantially to our airline proposition, and we look forward to working together to exploit exciting mutual opportunities.”
1GSA has been expanding its network since it was established earlier this year, with Transviet being only the latest addition to the fold.
In August, it appointed Moscow-based TEK Poseidon as its member for Russia.
The network has said that it aims to “take the hard work and uncertainty out of appointing GSAs, by offering pre-validated members, and the option to deal directly with individual members, or control multiple stations through a single 1GSA contract – supported by bank guarantees or CASS membership”.
