Nippon Express strengthens Scottish cargo base

JAPANESE logistics and airfreight forwarder Nippon Express has purchased 1,400 sq m of warehouse space at an air cargo centre near Glasgow International Airport.
Airport Industrial Property Unit Trust (AIPUT) owns the £460m facility.
Nick Smith, fund manager for AIPUT, comments: “It is hugely encouraging to see the airport is experiencing a resurgence in activity with air cargo volumes improving in recent months. We look forward to supporting the growth of Nippon Express’ logistics operation and forging stronger connectivity between Scotland and the flourishing Asia-Pacific region. ”
Airport operator BAA has invested around £20m in the airport.
