AA’s Kenji Hashimoto leaves air cargo

BARELY 18 months into the role of president of American Airlines Cargo, Kenji Hashimoto has suddenly moved on, as part of a big management reshuffle at the US carrier.
His cargo leadership role has been given to Jim Butler, previously managing director of commercial planning and performance.
Butler is the new president of American Airlines Cargo, reporting to Suzanne Boda, senior vice-president, Asia, Canada, Europe and cargo.
According to a spokesperson, Butler has a long history with American Airlines and brings more than 16 years of airline experience to the position, having served in numerous roles including commercial planning and performance, Europe/Pacific finance, sales and revenue management.
In another development, it has been announced that, even after the close of the merger, American Airlines and US Airways will continue to operate as separate airlines.
