Air Cargo News Awards set for a new format

Air Cargo News is proud to announce a new format for its awards, the highly prized ‘Oscars’ of the global airfreight industry for the past 35 years.
The 2019 Cargo Airline of the Year event, and a new same-day airfreight conference, will take place on April 26 at the Runnymede-on-Thames hotel near Heathrow Airport.
The awards have five best regional airline categories which are voted for online by freight forwarders, with 20,000 votes recorded each year.
And there is the ultimate industry accolade for more than three decades, the Cargo Airline of the Year award.
Five categories — the best ground handler, charter broker, freighter hub, GSSA, and freighter operator — plus an innovation award, will see submissions reviewed by a panel of experts.
Air Cargo News editor Roger Hailey said: "Our awards programme, now celebrating its 35th year, was established to let the cargo divisions share in the glory of their passenger colleagues.
"The decades since those original benchmark awards were launched have seen air cargo become recognised as an important link in global supply chains and as a key contributor to the airlines’ bottom line.
"Our awards have a new format but will still recognise the success and excellent service that airlines provide in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Africa.
"Building on the success of our pharma and Freighters World conferences, we decided to combine that event experience with our awards expertise."
Online voting opens on January 9, and the opening date for submissions is in November. Full details will be available at https://aircargonewsawards.net
The conference programme and updates can be found on the same website.
